May is Stroke Awareness Month

  • Stroke is the 5th leading cause of death in the United States and is a major cause of serious disability for adults. About 795,000 people have a stroke each year.
  • Stroke is preventable and treatable. It is important to understand the signs of a stroke in order to act fast to increase the chances of survival.

May is National Physical Fitness Month

  • Physical activity along with proper nutrition, is beneficial to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Over the last 20 years there has been a significant increase in obesity, it is important for everyone to be active.
